The Diurnal Drabble Dare: Week 25
Get your prompts for June 18-24, 2025!
Welcome to Week 25 of The Diurnal Drabble Dare, June 18-24, 2025.
How was Week 24? How many drabbles did you write? I managed to write 8. Here’s one of them:
One Hell of a Party
I put too much bourbon in the peaches, and everyone got drunk on cobbler.
Grandma sang at the top of her lungs, even though there was no music.
Uncle Bob threw the dog in the swimming pool. (Don’t worry. He’s fine.)
Cousin Jerry took off his pants and wore them on his head.
Mom sighed. “You should’ve followed the recipe.”
“I did,” I said.
“Then how’d you screw it up so bad?”
I stormed to the kitchen, grabbed a tub of ice cream from the freezer, and retreated to my room.
The cops arrived when someone set off the fireworks.
Want to see how other writers are using the prompts?
Bill wrote a drabble that incorporated all the prompts!

Get writing those stories! I drabble dare you!
Barbie was babysitting her ten year old niece. She was also writing a thesis paper on her old portable typewriter at the same time.
Candy said," Can we go on a picnic?"
" We'll have to wait for daylight" , She answered.. She began to think that she had gotten herself in above her head.
"Can we go for a swim?"
Again, she calmed herself down before she answered. "No, we have to wait for tomorrow and then we will go "
"Can I have some onion rings?"
" All right," Aunt Barbie replied. " But don't feed any to the dog. He will just vomit them up. "
Candy sauntered into the kitchen and put some frozen onion rings into the microwave . " How do you turn it on ?"
Barbie shut her typewriter until she could get this kid to bed.
Thank you, Nissa!
